We know that the work that we do to improve players’ experiences of Elite Dangerous Odyssey on PC will benefit other platforms in the future, but the dates and details of the console platforms are going to change. Ultimately, we believe it is right to focus our efforts on the core Elite Dangerous Odyssey experience for the platforms that we have released on, before opening up to more.

It was originally meant to arrive on consoles on fall 2021. The Odyssey update was a massive undertaking, tens of thousands of new places to go and the ability to explore worlds on foot. Fixing up Odyssey has changed the timeline of Elite Dangerous’s other updates, and fans have been frustrated.Ĭonsole players are going to have to wait to get their hands on Odyssey while Frontier Developments fixes up the PC version of the game. The recent Odyssey update caused issues, leading to frame-rate drops, buggy planet generation, and other issues.

Elite Dangerous is currently in turmoil, and developer Frontier Developments is taking steps to get the situation under control.
